Wairarapa United are making no secrets over how they are approaching their Chatham Cup elimination soccer match with central league side Stop Out in Wellington on Saturday. For them it is more a case of enhancing current deficiencies in their performance with an eye to launching a strong challenge for majorhonours in Capital Soccer's premier division series than making a serious bid for Cup glory "Obviously we'd be happy with a win but we're not placing too much emphasis on it," Wairarapa United manager Phil Keinzley said. "For us it's all about winning our league and we're not letting anything else detract from that." Keinzley expects the higher-graded Stop Out side to put his own team's defence to the test on a regular basis, and that's exactly what he wants. He said that while the defensive effort had improved in the 1-0 win over Brooklyn Northern United last weekend there were still problems as fas as both discipline and communication were concerned. "You don't win league titles by leaking goals and that's what we've got to avoid," he said. "The tighter the defence the better chance we have of pulling it off." Keinzley is confident though that if the defence holds up there is enough zip in the Wairarapa United attack to give them every chance of success. "Offensively everything seems to be in order and this is a game where they can go out there and enjoy themselves," he said. "They can take a few risks and if they come off who knows what might happen."
