An Auckland rugby player has been suspended for two weeks after urinating on the floor of a Parnell bar.
Winger Malili Muliaina was escorted from the George Bar in Parnell on Saturday night after urinating on the floor while standing at the bar, wetting patrons standing nearby.
Muliaina, who
won a Commonwealth Games gold medal with the rugby sevens team, said he could not remember why he was asked to leave the bar.
"I actually can't sort of really remember ... I was just standing there and they were telling me I had to leave. I don't know what I'd done."
Last night the Auckland Rugby Football Union announced that Muliaina would be suspended for two weeks and would receive a salary reduction during the suspension.
Chief executive David White would not reveal the amount, but said the salary reduction was significant.
"I have met Mils and expressed the union's disappointment," he said.
"His actions were totally unacceptable and he understands and accepts the disciplinary action that the union has handed down.
"Mils has offered to apologise immediately to all parties concerned."
No other players were involved in the incident, which followed Auckland's loss to Taranaki. Muliaina will miss Auckland's games against Northland and North Harbour.
