Masterton's annual Town Hall Christmas dinner is set to bring some festive spirit to those who don't want to be alone on Christmas Day.
Co-ordinator Lyn Patterson said the event attracts about 200 people from all walks of life, from families to the elderly who live alone.
"It's about having a fun, festive lunch and a good Christmas," she said.
The dinner is free to everybody, but Ms Patterson stresses that people need to book this year, to make things easier on the catering and so Father Christmas knows how many presents to bring for the children when he makes his appearance.
To book, call Carolyn on (06) 377 1598.
As well as a visit from Father Christmas, musicians Pat McKenna and Stefan Brown will be there to entertain.
"We've had a lot of businesses come on board to help, including Tweet Bird Catering and Breadcraft," Ms Patterson said. "We've had a lot of volunteers too, not just from Masterton Community Church, but from all over."
Anyone wanting to help can phone Masterton Community Church on 377 1598, and donations can be dropped at the church, 117 Ngaumutawa Rd, from 9am to 1pm weekdays.
