Thousands of New Zealanders think many cities, towns and street names in te reo Maori are mispronounced by Google Maps.
Vodafone launched a new online platform, "Say it Tika", on Friday morning, ahead of Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori from September 11 to 17.
Diversity and inclusion manager Kirstin Te Wao says it "warms her heart" seeing so many people wanting to protect the country's native language.
"It's been absolutely amazing, overwhelming and very humbling."

Advertise with NZME.She says they're encouraging people to not be shy and to go ahead and drop a pin on the places that are often mispronounced.
Te Wao says once the priority list of place names to be corrected is compiled, it'll be passed on to Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori / The Maori Language Commission.
She says the list will be worked through before being handed to Google Maps, to then be re-recorded.
Google Maps is set to be updated with the correct pronunciations later this year.
