A female teacher found guilty of sexual offending against a Wellington schoolboy is applying to keep her name secret.
The woman was not in the High Court at Wellington today for the brief hearing, the contents of which are suppressed.
Justice Simon France heard submissions from the woman's lawyer Stephen Iorns and Crown prosecutor Dale La Hood, and will issue a ruling later today.
At a trial last month, the woman was found guilty on six charges of unlawful sexual connection, and one charge of doing an indecent act on a minor.
The court heard she had sex with the boy, performed oral sex on him and kissed him.
The jury found her not guilty on two charges of doing an indecent act on a child.
The offending happened in and around Porirua and Paraparaumu, north of Wellington, when the boy was in his early teens.
The woman is due to be sentenced later this month.
