The Automobile Association's Lower Hutt centre manager, Simon Strombon, has resigned after a second drink-driving conviction.
Strombon, aged 30, of Wellington, was fined $1000 and disqualified from driving for nine months when he appeared in the Upper Hutt District Court on Tuesday.
The court was told that he had 700mcg of alcohola litre of breath when stopped. The legal limit is 400mcg.
The AA said Strombon resigned after a meeting yesterday with the AA's human relations manager Romana Meden.
AA staff policy lists drink-driving as serious misconduct that could result in dismissal.
