Rotorua and Taupo hospital services reviewed

The Lakes District Health Board yesterday announced a review of laboratory and radiology services at Rotorua and Taupo hospitals.

Issues such as the financial viability of services, accreditation concerns, staffing levels and need to rationalise equipment and resources will be examined.

The board said the review - which would be carried out over the next two months - would help determine the most effective and efficient way of providing laboratory and radiology services in the Lakes district.
