Robbery at 24/7 store, chocolate bars recovered

An Auckland vape store and internet cafe that is open overnight has been targeted by robbers for the second time in six weeks.

Police were called just after 2am to GC VapeShop 247 on New North Rd in Mt Albert.

Officers were seen gathering dozens of KitKat bars apparently dropped by the suspects outside the store.

The police Eagle helicopter was seen searching the area following the robbery but it is unclear if any arrests have been made or what was targeted.

In September the vape shop’s staff were left terrified as a group of hoodie-wearing offenders entered the shop, with one wielding a hammer.

The tool was used to smash open the shop’s glass counters before the group grabbed money and vapes and left, leaving staff scared for their safety.

The incident was part of an apparent crime spree with several aggravated robberies in central Auckland suburbs.
