KEY POINTS:
Phil Goff's comments on the possibility of a Labour defeat and his supposed desire to be prime minister have been overplayed, TV host Oliver Driver has said.
Speaking on Driver's Let's be Frank show on Alt TV, Mr Goff conceded that election defeat was a possibility, but went on to say Helen Clark was head and shoulders ahead of John Key as a leader.
National has made much of the interview, which screened last night, but Driver said Mr Goff told him he liked his current job.
He said Mr Goff's comments had been blown out of proportion and the National Business Review, which originally ran the story, had beaten it up.
