Rant Every morning at 6am I join the motorway at Papakura to head north and every morning traffic is almost stationary. Why? Because so many commuters abuse the T2 lane they actually createthe problem. Police it please.

Rave What a picture the gardens are at the Savage Memorial, Bastion Pt. A lovely tranquil spot to stroll, have a picnic, enjoy the view. Well done to the council gardening staff for providing such a nice place for Aucklanders and many tourists, even wedding groups, to enjoy.
Rant I can't believe what I saw today: Dog hit by dark red car on Dominion Rd/Mt Pleasant Rd intersection around midday. The dog got up eventually after rolling over several times and limped off up Mt Pleasant Rd. The driver of the car just continued on. Several cars following also drove by and didn't seem to care. I followed the dog up Mt Pleasant Rd, but he was frightened and thought I was chasing him. He finally disappeared into a property at the end of the street and a young man living there had seen the dog and went around to his backyard in the pouring rain to try and find him. Shame on you who hit the dog and didn't stop or try to help.

Rave Thanks to the awesome owners of the Ice Cream shop Scoops on the Strand in Whakatane, who on Monday simply overheard me asking my "birthday boy" what he would like on his special day. Well did he get spoilt! Ice cream of his choice plus beach balls, frisbees and chocolate bars! Apparently you have changed his mind from wanting to be a vet when he is older to an ice cream shop owner so he can make all the kids happy like you do!
Rant Travelling on the Southern Motorway during the day on any weekday is frustrating, crawling in near standstill traffic due to the bottleneck caused by the two lane bridges at Mt Wellington Highway. With three busy lanes of traffic trying to merge into two, traffic is regularly queued back past Otahuhu.

Rave A big thank you to Rowan from Dalton Electrical who stopped and handed me over his card at the scene of the accident he witnessed on April 20 at Otahuhu. It just goes to show some people are genuinely helpful. Thanks for your help mate.
