The price of the Herald and Weekend Herald printed editions will rise next week.
From Monday the cover price of the Herald will be $1.20 and from Saturday, March 8, the Weekend Herald will cost $2.50.
However, there are considerable savings for subscribers. Existing subscribers will pay $6.50 a week, an increase of 50c but a saving of 26 per cent on the retail price.
New subscribers will pay $7 a week, saving 18 per cent.
Extra savings can be made by subscribers paying six or 12 months in advance.
The general manager of sales and marketing, Pip Elliott, said the paper was committed to giving value for money. Recent improvements included SuperSport every Friday and the redevelopment of sections such as Weekend Real Estate.
There would be further improvements next week including a redesign of the weekday paper and the introduction of a full-colour magazine to the Weekend Herald on March 8.
