Power has been restored after 1800 Auckland homes in Takanini and Papakura experienced an outage.
Network provider Vector reported an unplanned outage in the two Auckland suburbs around 3pm.
A spokesman for the company said about 1800 houses were without power.
The outage was not caused by a car crash, but the spokesman could not confirm the cause of the outage.
There was no power to the ASB Takanini branch and the bank would close early and restore usual trading hours of 10am to 6pm on Thursday, a ASB spokeswoman said.
Reports from the provider's website show houses affected as far south as Orion St and as far north as Porchester Rd.
Initial reports said the power was out for over an hour.
The Papakura netball centre had reported on its social media page it was affected by the outage.
"Oops we have a power outage! Mercury Energy tells us that the fault should be resolved by 5.30pm."
While Joshua Robertson said he felt like he was in the 1800s.
"I'm gonna cut some wood and make a fire and act like I'm in the 1880s.
Might as well because that's what it feels like with this power outage in Papakura," he posted on Facebook.
