Police are seeking more information, including footage, in the case of a violent and sexual assault by five men dressed in costumes on an Auckland train.
Two teenagers were assaulted while taking a train home from Britomart to Avondale on August 12.
The mother of one of the victims, Jen de Montalk, said on social media her 15-year-old daughter and male friend were travelling home on the train about 5.30pm when they were confronted by five drunk men in Four Square costumes and masks.
Senior Constable Gene Smith, of Auckland City Police, said the teens were assaulted by five men who were disguised wearing masks and aprons.
Police are aware there were a number of people on board the train when the incident occurred and are appealing for further information including video footage from anyone who witnessed the incident, he said.
"Police have spoken to three men who are helping us with our inquiries, and we have identified a further two men who we are yet to speak to," Smith said.
No charges have been laid at this stage and further inquiries are continuing.
The police would like anyone who has footage or more information about the incident to contact Senior Constable Gene Smith at Auckland City Police on (09) 302 6400.
