A private detective's spy camera erected on a lamp-post in a Palmerston North street has been removed on city council orders.
After being alerted by a passerby the Palmerston North City Council removed the camera yesterday, but found it to be empty.
Private investigator James Williams, who had installed the camera, said he had erected it on the pole a year ago to monitor cars as part of a 48-hour experiment. Vogel St, where the camera was placed, is well known for street racer activity.
