Holiday time again
State primary, intermediate and secondary schools break up tomorrow for two weeks. Term four starts on Monday, October 6.
Motorway changes
The Grafton onramp to the Northwestern and Southern motorways will be closed from 8pm tomorrow until 6am on Monday, while work on the Grafton Gully Project continues.
Also affected is Wellesley St East. Right turns from Princes St into Wellesley St, from Wellesley St into Mayoral Drive, and from Lorne St into Wellesley St are no longer available.
The taxi rank on the south side of Wellesley St East, between Lorne St and Mayoral Drive, has been moved temporarily to the north side of Wellesley St West.
Streets closed
Watch out for street closures in downtown Auckland this weekend, as the Auckland Festival AK03 gets into gear. Parts of Tyler St, Galway St, Britomart Place, Gore St and Commerce St will be closed at times until 8am on Monday.
Festival free parking
And while the festival is on, from Saturday until October 5, Auckland City is offering two hours free parking on Sundays in the Civic, Downtown and Victoria St carparks.
Work at Britomart
Britomart Station is closed on Sundays for building work but buses and trains will still run.
Rates deadline
The deadline for paying the first instalment of your Auckland City 2004 rates is 4.30pm on Monday. Late payment will incur a 10 per cent penalty.
Footbridge closed
The footbridge linking the Kawerau and Plymouth Reserves in Bayswater is closed while a set of power lines is relocated. The work will take about eight weeks.
