The Ministry of Women's Affairs is a sexist historic relic that should have been scrapped, says National Party MP Georgina te Heuheu.
The Government announced yesterday that the Ministry of Women's Affairs would be strengthened, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs would disappear.
But Labour was reinforcing "sexist stereotypes" with the decision, Mrs te Heuheu said.
A review of the Women's Affairs Ministry recommended improving its performance by internally strengthening it, ministers said.
