Save Mohammad Omar Faruk was building a bright future in New Zealand, ready to a be a new dad.
But he was robbed of that promising future when a lone gunman attacked two Christchurch mosques on March 15, killing 50 people.
Faruk, a steel construction worker, is from Bangladesh where he
had recently visited his wife on holiday.
Bromley Steel colleague Nik Rosewarne told the Herald his friend was better known as "Faruk" rather than Mohammad.
He was a great guy who was using his talent as a welder to contribute to the Christchurch rebuild, he said.
