A man in his 80s was seriously injured when he slipped and fell while jumping off a 6m cliff into the water with his grandchildren.
The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Little Manly Beach on Auckland's Whangaparaoa Peninsula to fly the man to hospital just before 3pm yesterday.
Communications manager Lincoln Davies said the man slipped and fell on to rocks, suffering multiple injuries.
He had to be helped out of the water and was flown to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition.
