Man rescued in Maketu after boat flipped

A Bay of Plenty man has been treated for hypothermia after his boat overturned at Maketu on Saturday morning.
Police and the Coastguard were called to the Kaituna river mouth following reports of a man in trouble in the water.
A police spokeswoman said the man had been spotted by
a passing jetskier shortly before 7am.
The man had managed to climb on to the hull of his boat before awaiting rescue.
He was wearing a lifejacket.
