An alleged organised shoplifting crime group has been busted with police finding a large number of stolen items, a firearm, ammunition and drugs.
Canterbury police arrested four people and charged them with a total of 130 charges including shoplifting and aggravated robbery.
A 27-year-old woman, 30-year-old woman, 28-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male appeared in court this afternoon.
Police said they will face further charges next week.
The arrests came after police searched two addresses in Aranui, Christchurch.
Superintendent Lane Todd said the arrests would prevent further crime in the Canterbury area and credited crime-fighting software Auror and cooperation from retailers.
