Lisa Lewis says she's had a narrow escape, after being "hunted" across Hamilton in a road-rage attack.
On Monday she was coming back from seeing her accountant in Tauranga, reaching the roundabout at Cambridge Rd near Burger King.
She detailed on Facebook how she waited until there was a space to go through, but just as she did, a "small old car" pulled out in front of her from the Burger King exit.
Lewis swerved left, just missing a Mazda, but simply felt lucky to have avoided anyone's car being hit or injured.
But she said her relief didn't last. She soon realised the green Mazda she'd swerved in front of was now following her, with the women inside continuously tooting the horn and pulling their fingers.
Lewis picked up speed to try to put some distance between them, but the women continued to follow.
Just as she reached Wairere Drive, she said the worst happened; she hit a red light. Lewis said she watched in the side mirrors as two women "twice my size" got out and started "storming" towards her car.
Lewis said she immediately dialled 111 on a voice-activated hands-free system, and made an impulsive decision to go through the red light to get away from the women.
"I felt like a deer in the woods being hunted.
"I reached the next lights which was the Peachgrove crossroad where lights were failing me and I got given another red.
"The green Mazda was behind me again."
Now on the phone to a police operator, Lewis said she again went through the red light, trying to reach the safety of the police station.
But when she reached Clyde Rd, she found herself cornered.
"Suddenly out of nowhere the determined road ragers overtook all the traffic on Clyde Rd, driving on the wrong side of the road towards Grey St Hamilton East.
"It happened so fast; they swerved blocking me in and suddenly before I knew it there were two females.
"One in a blue teal dressing gown and one in a pink dressing gown jumped out of their car and came roaring towards my truck, whacked the front of my truck as I desperately started to try and do my windows up knowing this has just turned the switch to CODE 9 CRISIS AND EMERGENCY." (sic)
Lewis said one of the women yanked her truck door open, yelling that she'd almost killed her and that she was five months pregnant.
Lewis tried to stay calm, repeating that she was sorry, but said she felt as though the other woman was uncontrollable.
"Her eyes were full with fury and I believed THIS WAS IT.
"I knew I was out of my league. I could see it. I could feel it.
"This girl with one punch could cause a blood clot to my brain. I leaned my body all the way back so if she hit me (as she had her fist up), she would hopefully get my stomach or my boob - and not my face."
Lewis said she was only saved after another driver stepped in, and that if it wasn't for him, she believed she would be in the hospital.
She said he stepped between her and the other women, repeatedly telling them to get back, and that violence wasn't the answer.
Lewis said she then went straight to Hamilton Central Police Station to file a report.
A police spokesperson confirmed there was an incident shortly after 4pm Monday, between Cambridge Rd and Peach Grove.
"Inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
"For privacy reasons Police will not release names of individuals involved."
Lewis first rose to infamy in June 2006 when she ran across Waikato Stadium in a bikini while the All Blacks played Ireland.
