A 4-year-old child was killed when a truck crashed on State Highway 1 near Gore early this morning.
Police are now urging anyone who saw the crash to get in touch.
The truck was carrying about 30 bobby calves when it left the road and rolled into a paddock at 2.50am.
The driver suffered moderate injuries and two 6-year-olds, who were siblings of the dead preschooler, suffered minor injuries.
A number of the bobby calves were euthanised due to the injuries they sustained.
The crash happened between Moore Rd and St Ronan's Rd at Edendale. Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
Sergeant Clint Wright said police were keen to speak with anyone who may have information that could help their investigation.
Police would like to speak to any witnesses as well as any people who were travelling towards Gore around this time and may have passed a medium-sized truck with high sides.
