Two people were injured when a shuttle and trailer unit left the road and crashed into a ditch between Akaroa and Christchurch this afternoon.
Southern police communications shift inspector Peter Hegarty said emergency services were called to the incident which involved the Akaroa Shuttle on the Christchurch Akaroa Rd just before 5pm.
Ten passengers were understood to be in the shuttle, which had a trailer attached, when it left the road, crashed into a ditch and rolled.
Two people were taken to Christchurch with moderate injuries. Another person was also taken to hospital as a precaution, Mr Hegarty said.
"When police attended, there were only four passengers left at the site. Most of the other passengers were tourists who were trying to get back to Christchurch Airport and had left the scene."
Police are investigating the incident. No other vehicles were involved, Mr Hegarty said.
