A truck driver died this morning when his logging truck rolled down a bank in North Canterbury.
The driver died at the scene after he lost control and his lorry rolled over once, police say.
Westpac rescue helicopter general manager Simon Duncan said the truck went over a bank on Demmocks Rd, Ashley Forest, about 60km north of Christchurch, about 10am.
Mr Duncan said firefighters were at the scene removing the body from the vehicle.

He said the man's co-workers at the scene were "devastated".
Kaiapoi Police said CVIU and Serious Crash units are in attendance and are investigating.
Next of kin have been advised.
