A leaking roof at Challenge Stadium has forced the abandonment of the round 10 trans Tasman championship netball game between West Coast Fever and the Central Pulse.
The game was declared a draw at halftime, with the Western Australian and New Zealand teams each being awarded one point.
It will be Pulse's first point in the competition as they went into the game against Fever winless.
The Fever led 33-16 at the main break and looked well on the way to recording their first home victory, and their second win of the season, before umpires Jacqui Jashari and Kate Wright decided the playing surface was too dangerous to allow the game to continue.
If the game had been abandoned after the commencement of the third term, the team that led would have been awarded the contest.
There was a 40-minute delay after the halftime break as venue staff tried in vain to control the leak and to allow the umpires to make the final decision to call the game off.
The game was thrown into chaos when heavy rain that affected much of Perth throughout the day formed puddles mid-court from early in the contest.
Water was constantly being wiped from the floor in the first half and the problem became more apparent when Fever centre Ingrid Dick slipped but was unhurt.
When the game was called off Fever goal shooter Caitlin Bassett was the leading scorer with 20 goals from 24 attempts.
Western Australian Minister for Sport and Recreation John Kobelke was sitting in the crowd and after the game and Fever coach Sue Gaudion called on Perth to support her team's endeavours in the national competition with a new stadium.
