Music: Collins Street Festival to return to Napier in November, headlined by Sola Rosa

A street party and music festival in Napier, the Collins Street Festival, is returning for its second year.

It will be headlined by Kiwi electronic artist Sola Rosa and be held on Saturday, November 29, in Ahuriri.

“Collins Street is such a unique pocket of Ahuriri – it’s where wine, beer and spirits are crafted every day, so transforming it into a party space just makes sense,” co-organiser Beth Elstone said.

“The buzz and energy from the crowd was absolutely incredible [last year], and we’re so ready to do it all again.”

Sola Rosa is led by Andrew Spraggon, who blends soul, funk, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, and electronic grooves.

Yurt Party, Tropical Downbeat Orchestra, Bitta Batta, Mon Shelford and Hawke’s Bay’s own Yes Yes No will also perform at the festival.

The event was originally imagined by Tony Bish (The Urban Winery) and Elstone (Little Stone), inspired by the idea of throwing a street party in the heart of Napier’s beverage-making district.

Earlybird tickets start from $55 for general admission and the festival is restricted to those 18 years and older.

It will run from 3pm to 10pm on November 29 and tickets are available at collinsstfestival.co.nz.
