More than 40 rallies are expected to be held today across the country to protest the nation's action on fuel tax.
A person trapped on rocks at Ōmaha, north of Auckland, has managed to make their way to back to shore, police say.
A police boat was sent to rescue the person on Saturday evening, after a report they were stuck after the tide came in about 6.30pm on Saturday.
ThePolice Eagle Helicopter crew then found the person on Karamuroa Point, south of Ōmaha, a police spokesperson said, and the police boat was being sent to the spot.
Police later said the trapped person had managed to return to shore once the tide had receded.
