Trump cancels summit, citing 'open hostility' by North Korea
In a dramatic diplomatic turn, US President Donald Trump today (NZT) called off next month's summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un, calling the cancellation a "tremendous setback" for peace and stressing that the US military was ready to respond to any "foolish or reckless acts" by the North.

Kerikeri fisherman rescues four kids out fishing alone in boat
John Llewellyn has been a boatie all his life but what he saw while out fishing recently was "absolute stupidity".
The Kerikeri man and his friend Ante Lupis had been out fishing on Sunday and were heading towards the Kerikeri Cruising Club when they heard a Coastguard call sometime after 4pm about a boat needed help in the Te Puna Inlet, north of Kerikeri.

Officials say Harvey Weinstein to surrender in sexual misconduct probe
Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to authorities later today to face charges involving at least one of the women who have accused him of sexual assault, two law enforcement officials say.

Prince Harry and ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy's 'emotional' call before royal wedding
It was a move considered odd by some when Prince Harry invited two ex-girlfriends, Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas, to watch him marry Meghan Markle.
Davy, who split from Harry in 2010 after dating him on-and-off for several years, inspired memes when she was shown looking visibly uncomfortable during the wedding ceremony.
Now it's been revealed the ex lovers shared a "tearful phone call" in the days leading up to the royal wedding.

Why season two of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why is even worse than you think
Before the second season of 13 Reasons Why was released, Netflix sent out information about all the new warnings and resources they'd put in place with the hope of "supporting more meaningful conversations".
Credit where it's due, said resources are good: A warning video plays automatically at the beginning of the season and after every episode, there's a link to a website that has local resources, helplines and discussion videos about the topics in the show.
