Police are seeking witnesses after one man was struck with a broken bottle and another was stabbed in Wellington's Courtenay Place early yesterday.
Detective Sergeant Dave Thornton said the incidents followed an altercation between a group of Asian men outside the Rain Bar at 2.30am.
Mr Thornton said one man was struck
around the head with a broken bottle, and another was chased before he fell to the ground, was hit in the head and stabbed in the back with the bottle.
Both victims were males in their early 20s. The stabbing victim was operated on before being transferred to a general ward, and the other man was treated and discharged.
Mr Thornton said there were a lot of people in the area at the time, some of whom would have witnessed what took place.
He urged anyone who saw anything to contact Wellington police.
