Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt has set his sights on breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest television interview.
The record is held by Pedro Ruiz, who was interviewed on television in Madrid in 2009, for 12 hours and 30 seconds.
Mr Shadbolt hopes to surpass the record by being
interviewed on CUE Television for 26 hours, on April 28.
Interviewer Tom Conroy will host the interview, in front of a live audience in the SIT Centrestage Theatre, in Invercargill.
The event is a national fundraiser for St John.
