Manhunt after Christchurch bar robbed

A man forced his way into a Christchurch bar and made off with cash this morning.

Police said the man entered the rear of the Sideline Sports Bar on Stanmore Rd at 8.20am.

A staff member was in the bar, but left uninjured.

The man, wearing a balaclava and distinctive tartan bandanna, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and a forensic examination of the bar is under way.
