Man assaulted in Christchurch mall toilets

A 48-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries during an assault in the toilets of the Eastgate shopping mall in Christchurch today.

The incident happened around 2.30pm in the ground floor toilets of the mall, Christchurch police said.

The man was in hospital tonight but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

No one had been arrested in relation to the assault.
