Iraq sex claim rejected

Auckland's Prostitutes Collective head has rejected claims Kiwi working-girls are being lured to Iraq by offers of big money.

Regional co-ordinator Kate Dickie said she was surprised by a report this week claiming New Zealand prostitutes were heading to Iraq.

"I have not heard of a single girl leaving for the war torn region.

The international climate would not be conducive to travelling and working in that area.

"It's ludicrous. I would imagine they would be very strict on girls working in this industry."

Ms Dickie urged anyone considering working in Iraq to not do it.

"It is obviously a very dangerous place."
