Rodney police are looking for a barefooted bandit after a "heavily disguised man'' robbed a golf club last night.
Rodney CIB are investigating the scene at the Mangawhai Golf Club after a stocky Caucasian man who police describe as "heavily disguised'', forced his way into the Molesworth Drive building at 6.45pm.
Police said he gained entry via the outside door of the building and used a large wrench to threaten a female employee as she was locking up for the night.
The man was wearing a red bandana around his face, a cap pulled down over his eyebrows and no shoes.
He demanded the employee open the safe for him and was handed a sum of money. He then emptied her handbag searching for cash.
