Hockey reps win

Wairarapa scored a deserved 2-0 win over New Zealand Police at the national senior men's hockey tournament in Palmerston North on Tuesday.
An early goal to Chris Mason from a defensive rebound put Wairarapa 1-0 up, but while they attacked through most of the first half they didn't add to that total until just five minutes before the break.
Then Cody Linton. put a diving reverse stick shot into the top corner of the net, a spectacular effort by any standards.
The second half saw both teams have an equal share of possession and create a few scoring chances, but neither were able to capitalise on them.
Outstanding for Wairarapa were fullbacks Cody Linton and Joseph Crawford.
