The heat is on as teams in Netball Wairarapa's premier one competition battle to seal their spots in the top six playoffs. Three rounds of matches remain to be played in the preliminary round and only two teams, Harcourts 1 and Celtic 1, seem assured of top six positions. Defending champions Harcourts1 have the maximum 24pts after winning all six of their matches to date while Celtic 1 have experienced just the one defeat and are sitting on 21pts. Moving through to third position after their surprisingly comfortable win over Gladstone All Blacks are St Matthews Collegiate, who are on 17pts, and then come Kuranui College and Sports Arena Carterton, both on 16pts, and Gladstone All Blacks on 12pts. Currently out of the top six are Salute Greytown (8pts), Wairarapa College (5pts), Harcourts No.2 (4pts) and Carterton Red (1pt).
