The Wairarapa Primary Health organisation (PHO) is heading to Martinborough to hold its next meeting.
Chairman, Paora Ammunson says with the town on the brink of getting a brand new health centre, it seemed timely to gather there.
"The public are invited to all our meetings but this will be especially significant
because of the community drive to keep its own doctor and decent medical facilities."
Primary health care is what people receive from doctors and nurses at Wairarapa's seven medical centres. The PHO was established at the beginning of 2004 to co-ordinate the service and to provide a public forum for people to have a say to those providers.
"This is a great opportunity for anyone to have direct input, so come along and have a chat," says Mr Ammunson.
The Martinborough meeting will be held at the Hau-Ariki marae, 4-6pm on Wednesday, September 21.
Meantime, planning for the new Martinborough medical centre is going well and preliminary designs and an architect's model will be on display for public viewing early next month.
