A motorcycle crash on the Auckland Harbour Bridge caused northbound traffic to grind to a halt this afternoon.
All northbound lanes were closed for about 10 minutes after a motorcyclist careened into the back of a car about 1pm.
"All the northbound traffic slowed and stopped and the motorcyclist didn't," Sergeant Mike Hough said.
Two lanes have since reopened.
The motorcyclist is thought to have suffered neck injuries and is under observation in hospital.
