This weekend saw a few quiet days of golf being played with the qualifying of the Golden match play played on Saturday with some good scores being posted.
This weekend's club competition was a medal round with Raymond Cocks winning group one with net 69 from 2nd Bruce Herangi net 70
from 3rd Bryan Dick net 71 by lot. Group Two was won by Fred Brittain with a net 69 from 2nd Kingi Ruhe net 72 by lot from 3rd Mark Schultz also with net 72.
Group Three was won by Bill Ousey with a net 73 from 2nd Brian Stevenson with a net 75 from 3rd Ron Hutcheson with a net 76.
Twos were scored by K Ruhe, R Cocks and B Dick. Lukies Lucky Last was won by Trish Gallon with a net 84.
Nearest the pins were taken out by B Dick no.1 Solway Pie Shop, B Dick no.3 Mitre 10, D O'Reilly no.6 McCauley's Transport C Cocks no.8 Solway Butchery, K Ruhe no.10 Progressive Engineering, and R Hutcheson no.17.
The Women's Results for Saturday saw Jo Hargood take out the Silver Group with net 75 by lot from 2nd Michelle Coley also on net 75 from 3rd Ngaire Graham on net 76, Bronze Group was won by Heather Ousey with net 77 from 2nd Jean Bayly with net 78 from 3rd Ev Munn with net 80.
Sunday was quiet at Mahunga with the Cosy Club playing at Carterton, The club competition was a Stableford round with Carl Cocks winning group one with 43 pts from 2nd Bryan Dick with 37pts from 3rd Fred Brittain with 36 pts. Group two was won by Ian Grant with 41 pts from 2nd Kingi Ruhe with 36 pts from 3rd Ken Luke with 35 pts.
There was only one two which was scored
by Ken Luke.
The second round of the O'Keefe Trophy with Ngaire Graham & Brian Mitchell with 63 pts from 2nd Trish Gallon & Fred Brittain with 62 pts from 3rd Noelene Stevenson & Kevin Gibbs with 58 pts.
