Giants will be hot favourites to beat Royals in their Inter-city series men's softball match at Fraser Park tomorrow. Royals from Wellington are among the "cellar dwellers" in a competition which features the premier division teams from the Wellington and Hutt Valley inter-club competitions. So it follows that if Giants are tofulfil their objectives of top placings in both competitions they should be untroubled to win this one. Their coach Tony Nixon agrees anything less than a comfortable victory would be a disappointment but, at the same time,he is aware of the dangers of complacency. "You can't take anyone for granted at this level, if they (Royals) have a good day and we have a bad one then we lose, simple as that," he said. Nixon expects his side to be at full strength although that will depend on their being no fitness issues after their two Hutt Valley competition games against Cardinals and Hutt City United at Fraser Park last night. Those matches pitted Giants against two of the best clubs sides not only in Hutt Valley but over the whole of the country and their cause was hardly assisted by at least a couple of players being ruled out by work commitments.
