There was double delight for Carterton golfer Lyn Andrews in being part of the Wellington line-up which won the national Masters women's team's interprovincial event in Auckland last weekend. Andrews was playing for Wellington in this particular tournament for the fourth time and this was their first ever win in theevent. And making it sweeter for Andrews was that it was Auckland who filled the runner-up position. "They (Auckland) always do well and were the hot favourites so it was nice to pip them," she said. Pip being the operative word, Wellington coming from five points down going into he last of the four rounds to win by three points. "That last round was really tense and exciting, we knew we were in with a big chance and we managed to snuck in," Andrews said. The tourney was played under the gross stableford format with the best three scores in each of the 14 participating provinces counting in each round. Andrews, who plays on a six handicap and is the current Carterton senior champion, was "pretty happy" with her form, which saw her scores counting on two occasions.
