Foote in among the best

Former Masterton swimmer Isaac Foote has featured prominently at the New Zealand open swimming championships in Auckland.

Foote, now based in Wellington, placed second in the A final of the 200m butterfly final and broke the Wellington record in the process.

He clocked 2min 1.70s, well inside the old record of 2.2.52 and a personal best by 3s.

Foote had earlier made the A final of the 400m freestyle finishing seventh.
