About 50,000 people who take hypertension and angina medication may have to switch drugs again.
The Government drug-buying agency, Pharmac, is considering changing back to Felo ER, which was recalled in November after concerns about its registration process. Pharmac switched to Plendil ER, but says it would save at least $8million a year if it changed back.
It will decide by the end of the month.
But the Cardiac Society is concerned at the number of complaints about side-effects or problems with Felo ER.
