The demolition of two earthquake-prone buildings in Masterton will not be scheduled until the resource consent is granted.
The Masterton Trust Lands Trust, which owns the soon-to-be demolished former Opera House on Lincoln Rd and the red-brick block at the northern end of Queen St, was putting together a report on the buildings to send to council.
"Before we can do anything we need resource consent," Masterton Trust Lands Trust chairman Alan Sadler said.
The two buildings were both declared earthquake risks late last month, with the former Opera House meeting just 7 per cent of earthquake safety requirements and the block meeting 10 per cent. The minimum is 33 per cent.
The red brick block, built in 1927, was formerly part of St Patrick's School, and was used until recently by UCOL.
