A 48-year-old Auckland taxi driver accused of hiring a hitman faced two charges of attempting to procure a murder when he appeared in court yesterday.
The man, who has name suppression, was remanded in custody for a pre-depositions hearing next month.
He also faces eight charges of threatening to kill.
