Police investigating the disappearance of mother-of-three Sara Niethe are now certain her car was seen in Ngatea, 23km southwest of Thames, after two witnesses have come forward.
Ms Niethe, 30, went missing about midnight on March 30 after leaving a friend's house in Kaihere, 35km northwest of Morrinsville, to head home to Kerepehi, 10 minutes away.
Last week a man contacted police and told them he saw Ms Niethe's car being driven without lights in Ngatea on the night of her disappearance.
And an Auckland truck driver said he saw Ms Niethe's blue Honda Civic being driven "erratically" along SH 2 towards Ngatea and later in the town.
Police say neither of the witnesses saw who was driving.
