Child Cancer Foundation to benefit

The Child Cancer Foundation is to benefit from a combined half-marathon and relay handicap road running event to be held in Carterton on Saturday, September 22.
Organiser Ray Wallis has planned a three-lap course which will have the start and finish of each lap at the Belvedere Hall. Lap one will cover 7.1km and laps two and three 7km with the terrain being undulating and including a stretch of 1.5km of gravel road on all three laps.
Relay teams can either comprise of three walkers or runners over 16yrs of age who will complete the full distance of each lap or they can also include runners under-16yrs who will do split laps of 3.9km or 3.1km except on lap one where the first split will be 4km.
Individuals and teams will be requested to estimate their finishing times and first prize in each section will be awarded to entrants who complete their task in a time which is not faster than their estimated time by a specific margin, that margin being announced on the day of the race after all starters are underway.
All entry fee monies will be donated to the Child Cancer Foundation.
