New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Incorporated (NZKGI) was established in 1993. It represents kiwifruit growers and gives growers their own voice in industry and government decision-making. Today, NZKGI represents the commercial and political interests of over 2,500 passionate Kiwifruit growers throughout New Zealand.
Reporting to the Chairman and Executive Committee, the CEO will be responsible for the strategic leadership, and implementation of the agreed strategy and key objectives for the organisation. In this multi-stakeholder environment the new CEO will work closely with other organisations such as Zespri, post-harvest pack houses, training organisations, regional councils and government ministries. A key focus for the role is to provide a forum for dialogue across the industry, leadership in the development of the industry's strategic direction and to represent growers' interests within the industry, in addition to working on grower-led projects to enhance their interests. A small focused team reports to the role.
You will be experienced in advocacy environments and understand the nature of membership organisations. You will be known for your business acumen, excellent communication skills and have a proven track record in successfully influencing policy decisions at the highest levels. Critically, you will be highly resilient, naturally persuasive and will build enduring relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. An
understanding of commercial or contractual law and the primary sector would be an advantage.
