Waiariki Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is one of New Zealand's largest Institutes of Technology serving the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato regions with major campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Whakatāne, Taupō and Tokoroa, and learning centres spread across the region.
We are a new institution formed on 1 May 2016 by bringing together Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and Waiariki Institute of Technology to create one very successful institution providing quality education to local, national and international students.

The current requirement we have, is for a part time role (0.5 FTE) for a fixed term period (until March 2017). There is however the potential of a full time permanent vacancy arising later this year. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for delivering high quality training to our Carpentry students as well as actively contributing to developing programmes of study that are second to none. These programmes range from secondary-tertiary transition, to full time campus based, and apprenticeship training.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
delivering the course/programme in accordance with the approved curriculum document
providing timely quality training to students in line with their needs, industry and curricula requirements
contributing to the development of learning and teaching resources
liaising and networking with industry
The skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include:
The ability to communicate ideas/concepts and engage different types of learners
Well-developed leadership or teaching skills.
Up to date knowledge of carpentry and construction
Extensive industry experience
NZ Trade Certificate in Carpentry (or equivalent) as a minimum
Licenced building practitioner - Carpentry licence class

Salary Range: $64,000 - $69,000 pro-rata
