Caffe L'Affare orders world's biggest espresso machine

Wellington coffee king Caffe L'Affare has ordered what's thought to be the world's biggest espresso machine - although the cafe won't use it itself.

The 3m-long machine is being built in Italy. It's big enough to make a purported world-first 16 coffees at once, with four baristas at work.

The stainless steel and chrome machine will star at a Kiwiana festival in London this month before moving to Wellington.

Caffe L'Affare's Jeff Kennedy said the new machine was too big for Caffe L'Affare, but would feature at trade fairs and events.
